I recently came across SandLight by Snow Owl. Her full name is Lee So-hee. She debuted in 2014 and has released three singles, one of which is “SandLight” from April 2016. The music video is a montage of the wondrous, restless, and sometimes forlorn Seoul. Below is my humble translation of the lyrics.

SandLight by Snow Owl

The sand carefully gathered up in my two hands
Just like how it slips through the fingers
Past memories scatter about, flickering

Throw all the painful memories out to the sea
Let them sink to the bottom floor
Let the bright sun shine on you
And let your mind sail a little boat on a gentle wave

Let’s not sweat over it
It doesn’t always have to be pretty
We loved to the fullest
Toiled harder than anyone to keep each other

The starry night stretched before my two eyes
As though it would send down rains of starlight
Shines the past times that glisten

Throw all the difficult times out into the night sky
Let them hang off the edge of that half moon
Let the brilliant starlight shower you
And let your mind take a breath of the solitary air

Let’s not sweat over it
It doesn’t always have to be pretty
We loved to the fullest
Toiled harder than anyone to keep each other

Let’s not work too hard to erase all
All doesn’t have to be forgotten
We loved to the fullest
Toiled harder than anyone to keep each other
